Professor Didier Raoult, director of the IHU in Marseille, was sanctioned with a “reprimand” by the Order of Physicians of New Aquitaine.
The disciplinary chamber of this Order ruled on Friday.
This body was responsible for analyzing two complaints filed against the Marseille professor by his peers at the end of 2020.
The body published this sanction, the second in importance after the simple warning, without accompanying it with the motivations of this decision against the Marseille infectious disease specialist of 69 years.
Professor Raoult was accused of several breaches of the code of medical ethics in his promotion to hydroxychloroquine as a treatment against Covid-19, despite the lack of proven effect even today.
