Alassane Ouattara goes into “lockdown” after contact with Covid-19 positive person
Abidjan – The President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, having been in contact with a person tested positive to the Covid-19, has decided to put himself in confinement following the health recommendations on the matter and in accordance with government provisions, reports a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, a copy of which was transmitted Tuesday, August 3, 2021 to AIP.
The Head of State urges his fellow citizens to be vaccinated while continuing to respect the barrier measures to fight against this pandemic, concludes the statement.
The Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage recorded on Monday, August 02, 2021, 63 new cases of Covid-19 out of 2,370 samples taken, that is to say 2.6% of positive cases, 72 cured and 2 deaths.
As of August 02, 2021, Ivory Coast has 50,341 confirmed cases of which 49,461 have been cured, 332 have died and 548 are active. The total number of samples is 791,050.
On August 1, 3,650 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, for a total of 1,023,548 doses administered.
