On the eve of the match counting for the 7th day of Ligue 1 against AS Monaco, the coach of the ASSE appeared before the press this Tuesday afternoon. Claude Puel took stock of his squad before the clash at Louis II.
Yvann Maçon absent until October international break
Claude Puel carried out the update on his squad this Tuesday noon, before taking the direction of Monaco. The coach of AS Saint-Étienne must still compose without Yvann Maçon whose return could wait several weeks.
“Yvann Maçon will not be available yet. He’ll probably be out until the international break. Otherwise the workforce is full. For Yvan Neyou and Saïdou Sow, it will be good (…) Saidou Sow is fine, this is the main one “, said the Ligerian technician during the traditional pre-match press conference. The 22-year-old will therefore miss the important fixtures against Monaco, Nice and especially Lyon. One less asset for the Greens and for Puel who counts only the native of Baie-Mahault as a real “safe bet”at this position of right side.
ASSE: Puel expects a very big fight in Monaco
Facing the media, the coach of theAS Saint-Étienne has been very clear: despite the sluggish start to the season of the Rock formation (1 success, 2 draws, 3 losses), he expects a very complicated game in the Principality.
“Monaco are a skilful team with a lot of ball players, able to play under opposition pressure. This is one of its peculiarities. We’re working to get answers against these teams, too. They have a lot of good players and opportunities to spin and be able to chain. Their league start has been difficult, with the Champions League rounds, but they are finding their cruising pace, ” warned Claude Puel.
