Olembe Sports Complex first match scheduled

The friendly match Cameroon against Malawi scheduled for September 2 at the Olembe Sports Complex will indeed be played on the said day. The company in charge of the construction of the complex assured yesterday, July 14, in the presence of Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi Minister of Sports (Minsep), that everything is ready for the holding of the match without grievance.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, president of COCAN and owner of the construction site of the Olembe Sports Complex was able to see the progress of work, three weeks after his last visit.

Accompanied by the Governor of the Centre region Nasseri Paul Béa and the Prefect of the department of Mfoundi, Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has peeled point by point the elements likely to guarantee a match without a hitch. At the end of the visit, the satisfaction is bound to the end of the lips. The Olembe Sports Complex is now a reality. In addition to external connections, including the installation of pangolin skins for the stadium’s dressing, the decongestion of access roads, the playing surface, the stands, the floodlights and the sound are all there.

The match that will be played on September 2, is an opportunity to test the stadium and see what it can offer in terms of comfort during the AFCON Total Energy 2021.

During a press briefing given at the end of his visit, the sports boss mentioned the drawing ceremony. This last one which was postponed, will be held exactly in one month. This time it will be at the Congress Hall of Yaoundé in the presence of members of CAF. As for the anthem and mascotte of the AFCON TOTAL Energy 2021, the minister announced that MOLA and the anthem chosen by COCAN has been approved by CAF.

Minsep also gave some subsequent recommendations for the acceleration of the finishing works.
